Posted - Apr 18 2012 : 19:09:39 I thought I would open up a new opportunity for my friends here at Boatered. A first, priveleged shot if you will.
I'm looking for a boat sponsor for the upcoming season. You pay all my living/boating expenses this summer and in return, I'll let you brand my boat any way that you choose. Imagine your company name/brand/cause plastered on the side of my boat. I'll go boating every single day and give it my best shot. My full committment to boating, will shine through to complement your branding.
If your interested, please let me know soon as I will need to start planning for an extended boating season right away.
For those of you who "wished" you thought of this, I only ask that you wait to throw your hat in the ring only after I have selected an appropriate sponsor, especially should a bidding ware ensue.
I look forward to your sponsoring!

Posted - Apr 22 2012 : 13:18:26 There are four "your's" in the OP's post, three are correct, one is not.
Imagine your company name/brand/cause plastered on the side of my boat. - correct
If your interested, please let me know soon as I will need to start planning for an extended boating season right away. - incorrect

I look forward to your sponsoring! - correct, but I think it should be sponsorship : - )
TO the OP, what do you expect the annual cost range might be? Part of my business' long-term advertising plan is to have a boat that acts as a billboard so this is intriguing. |

Posted - Apr 20 2012 : 20:45:08 BillK CLEARLY wins! Not many know the term "yuns." Reminds me of my time spent living in N GA and western NC back in the day. :)

Posted - Apr 20 2012 : 06:22:19 Your = possession ie "Your hourse, your car etc". You're = you are - "If you are interested" "If you are in the area" The correct use in this case would have been yuns = ie "Are yuns interested" "Are yuns coming" "Is that yuns car" This version is much more flexible and can be used to replace "You" "Your" and "You're" |

I wish you luck in your endeavour. Having recently inked a few sponsors for my sons race team (cars not boats), I can tell you the process is long and at times painful.
I will also tell you that any sponsor will jump to the top of your recent calls list. You will also need to make your boat, and Captain available for promotional events. |

You can try it. I hear ESPN is firing up a new show: "Trolling for IRS agents." |

Posted - Apr 19 2012 : 06:33:16 Ghost, I was going to send you a check for $50k and a 12"x12" company logo for you to afix to your boat but then i noticed you typed "your" instead of "you're" in your post above and I have a strict "No donations to those that confuse you're with your" policy. Sorry! ;) |

Posted - Apr 18 2012 : 19:34:33 Hey, I think Ghost would look good with 48 feet of "Boatfix" plastered on the side. Besides as you note, its only "attempted" commerce. I figure we can leave it up until someone bites. |
