I am about too order some led underwater lights and was wondering what color would be best for our murky water. I was going to order blue but wanted to hear from anyone who might have them on Long Island. Thanks

I have 4 Britter Innovations high intensity blue LED's. In brachash water they look great 90% of the time. Sometimes after a storm when the water is loaded with silt you can barely tell they are on. Most of the time they really look great.

I have 4 Sea Vision SV19 Xenon lights. You can use them with a tinted filter and I initially tried them with a blue filter, but I found white works better in murky water.
They are expensive and sometimes a pain but I love having them, it is great to see the marine life in different areas.

Al what did you end up using? I just ordered the Lumitech 2 Seablaze 3 - 2 color white/Blue from BoatFix, not surprising but they had the best price by far for these. |

I have them. Two that are amazing. Green works best and what I have with the murky water. They are still hooked up and on now, so feel free to stop by any night to see how they look. I can give you the contact info of the guy too. Not that expensive and does a great job. He's doing it all over now, from Manhattan to the East End. Great guy. |

I am not on LI but I am in the same murcky waters of the Chesapeake. I have blue on my boat and it works ok in the beginning of the season but after the algae has a chance to take its course it does not show to well. You will need to keep cleaning them. I am not sure I would do it again if I had to do it over again. However, when it works it is pretty cool. |
