Can anybody recommend a good hull surveyor in the Fort Myers area? Also, I need a good diesel mechanic for the mechanical survey. Thanks in advance.

Adrian Volney is a fine surveyor located in Punta Gorda Area. He has lots of experience with metal boats. He surveyed Waveform, my 41 foot steel boat about 10 years ago and I was very pleased with the job.

Give Cummins the serial number(s) of the engine(s) and they will tell you what warranty work was performed.

Excellent info! Thanks Hogan. Engines are indeed Cummins. I will give Cummins Power South a call and place "All Florida Marine Survey" on my do-not-use list. Unbelievable and unacceptable that they would be so inaccurate. We're moving aboard, so this survey is very, very critical since its not just a toy anymore.

The boat has an aluminum hull, so a surveyor with a lot of alloy hull experience and ultrasound service is a must.

What brand engines? If they are Cummins, I used Cummins Power South for mine. They did a great job.

I used "All Florida Marine Survey" I would NOT recommend them. I was just looking at the report this past weekend, and wondering if he actually was on MY boat. He had the all chain anchor rode as chain and rope, he had the number of bilge pumps wrong. He had the generator hours wrong... He didn't pick up that the seat backs were rotten.
