This is my 1995 252 I bought last summer in need of a motor and some TLC. I'm looking forward to a full summer of fun this year.

Our first formula was a 1990 26PC. Bought it in 96 slightly used with 57 hours. It was our first sleep on boat, and got us hooked on the marina life
Ours had the same color scheme as yours and still looked great when we sold it for our 31PC in 2002
yours looks great!

Ah, time for the history lesson: remember Churchill and his shortest speech - never, never, ever give up!

I think if you go back to page one of this thread I had printed something on how to post... you have to have the picture on a web site, you cannot post from your own computer. Have at it one more time....failure is not falling down, failure is not getting up to try again.

The canvas is in great shape, and I kind of like the black. It matches the scheme well enough. It's only about a year old, so I'm keeping it for as long as it will last! I just found the receipt and the previous owner paid over $4500 for it.

Good looking boat, JM. When Formula discontinued the 36 in the early 90's, they had a big gap in their model lineup, with a jump from 34 to 41. Now, of course, theres 34,37 and 40 in the larger PC's. On another note, how does that black canvas work for you? I have a similar color scheme, and I just can't bear to put teal canvas back on, so I'm thinking black or grey. However, I don't want to have new stuff made that looks out of place.

Looks to be an inflatable on the swim platform, give us some details about it and the davits holding it in place. Don't forget to take some pics of the admiral as she docks it....Formula owners don't need no stinkin' bow thrusters! OK, I really wanted to check her out but I thought it was a pretty good try!!

Thanks, George! Yes, the canvas is about a year old. It had a little mildew on the inside, but we got that all off yesterday with some oxyclean and water on a brush. The stratoglass is in great condition as well. The side curtains do not have screens. I don't think we'll ever take the entire canvas off... it looks pretty complicated and my wife and I are not sun worshipers.

Yes, that's a RIB on the back. It's maybe 9-10' long, and has a 15hp outboard mounted underneath it's cover. The davits are a simple U-shaped thing that can pivot 90 degrees to drop the tender into the water. The previous owner made a mounting system that integrates with the swim ladder to hold the outboard.

I don't think the 'admiral' will be docking it anytime soon... that will be my duty. How about a pic of her as she's cleaning the deck or throwing a fender over? LOL!

Manmade,
Grew up in Kansas and spent years boating on Lake of the Ozarks in the 70's as a kid. Loved all those tree lined coves and BIG thunderstorms. Never been up to your part of the country but maybe one day. As for the sunscreen, I recommend a covered slip and a fine bikini for the wife.

Looks good, George. I've seen many boats that have taken the gold leaf "Formula" off the transom to put their name on, but I gotta tell 'ya, I like it left on. The gold accents with the deep blue look great, by the way.
GSENT Posted - Jul 02 2007 : 13:10:15
Boat looks great, George. I just don't know about those dirty fenders, though. Just kidding. Glad to see that you are getting seat time. Hope you continue to enjoy her.
mannmade Posted - Jul 01 2007 : 21:13:43
How does someone living in Arizona ask a New Yorker, "How's the weather up there?" Are you putting me on or do you really have a concern about how much boating I can get in before it turns ugly?!! Actually we are not doing too badly, and I have managed to clock about 29 hours so far. The holiday week doesn't look too bad although they are saying showers posibly Wednesday. As long as they fall in the morning and don't have an effect on the Macy's fireworks show it will be fine. Of course we all need to say a prayer for the folks in Texas & Kansas who have been inundated lately.

Hope you guys are putting some UV protection on those pretty Formula hulls to keep them looking sharp. You've got some great places to boat, thanks for sharing the photos.

Great photos, CMac! Much differnt backdrop than the upper midwest waters I boat on. Great looking boat, too. That's quite a tow rig you've got. You can use it to pull houses off their foundations when you not boating

Yep, we tow to Pleasant. Going to Powell this Thursday for 4 days. Possibly looking at indoor dry storage at Powell.

Chris

What do you tow the 31 with - any problems?

Wife and I were at SCM yesterday looking at the 31 PC then proceeded to Pleasant - as you probably know there is no storage available.

Really want the boat but not sure what to do with it when not in the water.

Thanks,

I'm surpeised Pleasant has none. We thought about it, but want it covered. Covered dry, on the trailer, worked out to be a rediculous $700 to $800 a month. The new marina should open up some room.

We love the 31pc, let us know what you decide.

AZ,

Joe will paint your registration numbers on too, so they match your name. You may have to wait until you have her out of the water again, not sure if he would come up there for it.
AZ Cruiser Posted - Apr 25 2007 : 22:56:21
Thanks, I give the credit to my 6th grade son for coming up with the font, it's called Planet Benson 2 in MS Word. My wife came up with the name & the fish. The guy who painted it is a local guy who does custom cars and boat graphics on the side. Best part was he only charged $375.00! Were heading up Friday to make it 3 wkends in a row. We will get some pics out on the water, 95 and sunny is the forecast!

Make it a great week.

To AZ:

Greg,

Nice job on the graphics for your boat name. Did you utilize a particular website for the design? Just wondering.

Our boat is complete, and is enroute to the dealership. It should be getting bottom painted early next week. We're anxiously awaiting it getting into our hands, as the weather has been perfect here for boating.

Take care,

GW

When do you take possession?
We just got back from Lake Powell. Her first of many trips up.
For those not familiar with the lake, this is at Dangling Rope floating marina at 43 mile mark on Lake Powell. Only accessible by water. This was the only sunny day we had.

Thanks for the info. If you head our way let us know, we don't know any one up there but hope we have good slip neighbors. We have 4 boys...5th, 6th, 8th and 9th so we won't be invisible! We are planning for Powell next summer so take some pics for us.
CMac Posted - Apr 10 2007 : 17:52:05
No adjustments are needed, the ECM will control timing and fuel mixture according to air density and fuel quality. We are at about 1000' above sea level and the biggest change we can make is in props. I just picked up another set of props in 24 pitch for Lake Powell at 3600' elevation with a fully loaded boat and 6 passengers.

Funny, our old Chaparral 260 is sitting in front and right of your bow, with the blue cover.

Looks like we'll make a trip to Roosevelt this year. I just have to check on the one underpass elevation on the way up to Payson. We tow radar arch up and is 14'2" at the antenna swivel.
AZ Cruiser Posted - Apr 10 2007 : 17:35:20

This is how it was shipped. Not sure on the adjustments, I will follow up. Do you know CMACK?
mannmade Posted - Apr 09 2007 : 23:11:07
Nice pictures, great looking boat! AZ, did they ship yours without the radar arch in place? Do you guys have to make tuning adjustments because of elevation at the lakes (I'm thinking you are way above sea level)?

I commute past SC Marine every day and noticed they are prepping your's. When does it go up to Powell?

No need to show these on a new thread...actually they are also on the HRCC forum, but some of you may not read those. These were taken at the factory as they check the systems on my boat before deelivery.

They will be delivering the boat April 17th, hope to be in the water by the 19th.

PhilipLankford Posted - Jan 14 2007 : 16:54:20
The one I was looking at was gas also and the same color scheme. Gas is fairly rare in the 40PC, so I was just wondering, but it must not be the same boat.

Since most prefer diesel in the 40PC, we could've picked that one up for a "steal" too!

Nice boat.
