Hey we're in FL now for the next 10 days (or more if we decide to not return to Atlanta. Stay tuned! ;)
Buyer that bought my boat seems like a great guy- him and his wife and his 2 small children about the same age as ours. It's a great family boat and they are very excited and I am excited for them and really glad to be part of their boating adventure. I know they are getting a solid boat in great shape and perfect layout for a family.

So yes- everyone help us find our next ride:
3 staterooms
diesels
screaming and ridiculously good deal financially. :)

Shep - I was giving Tony grief that now he's 'boatless' too - let's see how much of his money we can spend...

Congratulations, Tony! Must be a great feeling to finally have her sold. Now, if I could just get mine sold. I'm in talks with a broker in Florida about trading mine for one of there's, but the 'deal' he is giving me is not all that good.
JeffN Posted - Dec 29 2009 : 18:45:15
Congrats Tony, almost a Christmas miracle...happy hunting!
mintregila Posted - Dec 29 2009 : 17:34:58
Congrats.

That was a journey.
Wingspar Posted - Dec 29 2009 : 15:40:53
It took me about a year and a half to sell my boat finally at a greatly reduced price. However, I also bought my new one at a very low price. More then 50% off what it sold for just three years ago. Great time to buy, terrible time to sell.

WOW TONY! Finally! Glad you got her sold! :)

Woodsong Posted - Dec 29 2009 : 15:23:44
Joey,
No, cancelling the slip for now. There are tons of slips available so I'm not worried about getting back on our dock and not sure what we're buying yet or what travels that may entail! ;)

TheGreatEscapeII Posted - Dec 29 2009 : 15:17:44
Congrats Tony, are you going to keep your slip at Bald Ridge?
jlee815 Posted - Dec 29 2009 : 15:05:16
In the words of Etta James "At last"... Congrats. Cant wait to see your next dream boat.
Woodsong Posted - Dec 29 2009 : 15:04:25
It feels VERY weird to have sold her...kind of like selling a family member or something. She was an excellent boat and we have amazing memories of our time with her. She passed survey without a single item noted of concern which was no surprise to us as we kept her up very well. Buyer got a heck of a steal but that's ok- I will get a heck of a steal on our next ride. reality is the market is absolutely terrible and only getting worse so all in all, not a bad deal and it frees up to buy the next boat. We would be upset if it were not for the thought of buying our next boat. The next one we will get what we really want and a boat that can go long distances and keep for a long time.
The HUNT is officially ON!

CurrentSea Posted - Dec 29 2009 : 15:01:24
Wow, thus ends one of the longest boat selling quests ever!

Congrats and good luck with the new boat hunt!

SOLD!!

kalcris Posted - Oct 16 2009 : 20:44:19
Tony,

Have you tried to trade your boat towards another? I just traded my 1990 34 Silerton on a 2002 28 Cruisers. I just figured it was my best option at this point. Didn't want to start again next year.
Woodsong Posted - Oct 14 2009 : 15:09:29
Douglas and Al, you all need to pool your resources and buy it together. :)

ALKA2710 Posted - Oct 14 2009 : 14:57:18
I will give u another bump because I also love your boat and wish I could afford her financially especially being yours is an awesome price. There is one for sale here same year 248,000. Good luck

I just sold finally but am in no position (yet) to make a move but if I were.....this would be it......

Courtesy bump.....
mintregila Posted - Sep 30 2009 : 07:58:38
Al, Unfortunately with 4 women in the house you may need more bathrooms before the boat.:)

ALKA2710 Posted - Sep 29 2009 : 22:26:29
I tell you 3 years ago a homemade bottle of wine around thanksgiving changed my life. My 3rd daughter was born. Woodsong I am a beaten man. Even the dog is a girl.

Woodsong Posted - Sep 29 2009 : 22:22:43
Al- MAN UP! Show your wife who is in charge and buy my boat! :) Don't let her put a hold on my wife and my dreams! hahaha.

We actually have had multiple offers over the last year that we turned down as we didn't really know what we wanted to do, etc.

ALKA2710 Posted - Sep 29 2009 : 20:29:10
Damn Damn Damn no raffle than I am out again. Going to start playing the lottery. Let me tell you I just refinanced and close tomorrow on a 10 year loan no points at 4 percent and for that rate could have bought a lot of boat. Woodsong If I was not being strong armed by the wife I would have bought yours. If I can get out of the construction I will look you up.
Al
walterv Posted - Sep 29 2009 : 17:19:53
I will buy 2 tickets
Woodsong Posted - Sep 29 2009 : 16:41:45
If I recall there are gaming laws impacting the ability to raffle the boat?
I guess it's a case of the "cobbler's children have no shoes"- I've sold a surprising number of boatsthis summer as a broker (34-50 range) yet my boat remains unsold! haha. Obviously having gasers has been a limiting issue and the fact it's on land locked lake lanier. But- it's still easily shipped anywhere and would make a perfect weekend/casual cruiser for a family and it's honestly in excellent shape. It's a great boat- just not the type of boat that is best suited for our next phase of boating and lifestyle we are going to start moving towards and hopefully moving that way soon!

Someone needs to buy it so we can move forward with the plan we've hatched for a grand adventure for our family. If you buy it we will send you post cards. :)

CurrentSea Posted - Sep 29 2009 : 16:37:17
Thats a good idea Tony.
Why don't you do the boat raffle.
Sell tickets $200 a pop.
If you get enough you do it.
If you don't you return the money.
Then you have to do a independent raffle drawing somewhere.
Guy did that near me like 5 years ago, but the boat was only like $15K and raffle was $100
ALKA2710 Posted - Sep 29 2009 : 16:09:08
Dave lets go one further a BoaterEd raffle. 100 bucks a person and winner takes all. I also love this boat but the wife just stole all my get a bigger boat money for another renovation on the house. Damn Damn Damn.

CurrentSea Posted - Sep 29 2009 : 14:41:41
We have about 20,000 RO's, if everyone chips in $10, we can buy Tony's boat, donate it to charity and be done with him trying to sell his beautiful boat so he can buy a bigger one!

Send me your checks if you want in!
Woodsong Posted - Sep 29 2009 : 14:20:29
Ok. We're ready to give our silverton away to get the next boat. Price reduced. $190k and she's spotless down to her engine room. We're making some changes and ready to take the leap so come buy this boat at a steal of a price.

Woodsong Posted - Sep 08 2009 : 17:26:10
bumpity bump bump. This is like bank repo prices without the uncertainty of maintenance! :)

Woodsong Posted - Aug 16 2009 : 14:12:03
I'm seriously being tempted by 2 boats on the market. If you like this boat let's make a deal!!

Woodsong Posted - Jul 30 2009 : 09:17:45
Shep, fear not, I've been working on Ted regarding the Sabreline!

shepdog Posted - Jul 30 2009 : 08:46:25
Get your butts down here and you won't be leaving without the Sabreline. It would look great on Lake Lanier!

Road trip to FL! We can go look at Shep's boat (saw a nice bigger sabre in HH - maybe a 42 - beautiful lines) then down to land of the reposessed and get a twofer.

Or maybe just head to the lake and enjoy our current rides - oh well, nevermind.

Selling the current boat is always the problem for boat owners looking to move up.
Mike Dzurko Posted - May 29 2009 : 09:42:45
That's the problem, I do have to listen to her :) And she has declared that a) We'd have to sell our current boat first. and b) We have to determine where we stand with certain investments. Darn, drives me nuts when she's practical!
Woodsong Posted - May 26 2009 : 21:40:38
Mike,
You only live once! Listen to your wife and make the jump! :)

Mike Dzurko Posted - May 26 2009 : 16:15:54
This is an absolutely beautiful boat. Showed my wife pictures and she loved it. I'm afraid at this time we're not ready for our next boat change, but if we were, yours would be high on the list to check out. Your price is awesome, I looked up same model comparisons and they were all WAY higher. I'm sure someone will jump on this pretty soon!
