Thanks for all of the good information on this forum. We came across a 2004 3880 with 200 hours and they took our 2009 Rinker 280 EC on a trade. The boat apparently came from Cleveland. Dry land systems test on Thursday and sea trial on Friday.

Pictures posted in the Great Lakes forum of our first trip. All went really well. We are on vacation this week so I am knocking off the "To Do" list. The shower/head sump was really, really gross. I have cleaned all of the strainers, given the boat a good bath, checked all the hose conections and clamps, re checked all fluid levels, straightened out all the cabinet doors .... Having fun learning all the systems. |

My mechanic fixed the blower issue yesterday. The ground from the switch on the helm was no good. He ran a new one as he could not find where it was off. Taking the first trip tomorrow from Port Dover to Dunnville. Going with another boat so we will have company on the trip. |

Under the side seat on flybridge are breakers as well.
See if there is one for the blower.

Thanks Dave. I can't turn the blowers on from the panel or from the helm. The LED's light up on the panel but they don't come on. The helm light does not light up.
My wife had not seen the boat until it arrived at the marina. She was busy in meetings last week. She likes the boat. |

If you have any questions, ask as I have the same boat.
Blower's could be the switch.
Blower's also have a switch on the panel for the genny.
They always run when genny is on. I thought that was odd when I first saw it.

Took delivery Friday. I helped set up the radar, wind screen and Bimini. I figured it would be helpful for future reference. Ran fine and all is good. I had a friend go out with me to give me a lesson, he has a 53' Carver so he knows how to handle a boat. I docked myself with no problem using his instructions.
The blowers stopped working on Saturday so we could not go out. I am sure it is just a loose ground but I did not have my multi meter with me. The survey came back rating the boat at above average. The only deficiencies is that the anchor is bent and the anchor to rode shackle has no safety wire.
The counter also has a few cracks so we definitely need a professional. Spent most of the time learning the systems, checking hoses and clamps, and of course cleaning.
Paid my $25.00 to join the site as the information available is well worth it. |

Our 2003 3860 came with a kit for sanding and polishing scratches in the corian. I was always uncomfortabe at the thought of sanding it but after a few annoying scratches, my wife went ahead and used it. Easy to do and great results! |

I have the same boat and the Corian can be buffed to remove scratches. I have wet sanded mine followed by polish and it looks like new even after 11 years. |

Mostly all of your solid surfaces can be sanded and buffed. Talk to a local guy in your area who uses solid surface. They have all the secrets. Biggest problem is the dust when sanding. It goes everywhere. |

Let me know what you do with the corian top.
I am told you can buff them, but afraid to do mine.
Someone said it may not be corian and the only way to tell is if it is stamped dupont on the underside.
That top scratches very easily and mine has a bunch of scratches I would love to buff out!

Ran both engines on the hard and they performed perfectly. All other system worked perfect as well. 210 hours on the engines. The Corian Counter top in the Galley is dull and marked a bit but I understand that they can be brought back to new. Splash today in the afternoon for a sea trial but I really can't for see any issues. |
