The windlass stopped working today as it was pulling up the line. I have looked for the breakers or fuses for it and cannot find them. Has anyone else had an issue with this specifc model or any others for that matter? The next step is to call the dealer but I was hoping it was an easy fix.

My Lewmar 700H has a circuit breaker built into the switch mechanism. If you have one, it'll reset when it cools off.

Based on past Chaparral practices, it is either inside (on the) the helm or in the battery switch box area.

So was a wiring issue or a fuse issue? I may just need to break down and have a mechanic check it out as I cannot see anything clearly. Most of the connections are out of sight.

Mine was a bad splice in the wiring at the anchor locker. There may be some ties that hold the wiring up inside the anchor locker. They need to be cut to allow you to see the wiring.

cfurcht: Did you get your windlass fixed? What was the problem? Could you post photos of your windlass installation? I'm buying a Signature 240 and would like to install a Lewmar windlass so I'm very interested in your installation. Thanks. Hy
