One of my dock buddies is gone. Larry who has been diving for many years, mainly for Lobster, did not surface on a dive with several buddies today. They were diving off Ft. Lauderdale. When he did not come up his friends searched for him and I'm told he was found face down on the bottom. They said there didn't seem to be any sign of an attempt to surface.
Larry was a Disc Jockey at one of the local clubs for many years, some of you may know him.
I am waiting for further info but wondering what happened.

Please accept sympathy and condolences. I had a friend diving on the two CG ships off the Keys who developed a bad embolism. When I last saw him, years ago, could walk if the concentrated on only walking.
I've been tuned to dive accidents ever since and will be in prayer.

God Bless, jd

Sorry to hear of your loss. I am an avid diver in the northeast, and hate to hear these stories.

My prayers go out to his family and friends.

Sorry for the loss of your friend. This has been such a bad year for diving incidents. Always a tragedy. The older I get, the less I want to "push the limits". But I so love the water...

I'm very very sorry to hear this. I've been diving for 25 years now and was very seriously into it for some time. The unfortunate truth is that this kind of thing is really not at all uncommon. My definition of "safe" now is not anything like it was many years ago.

While I have certainly been on more solo dives than I can count, this is one of the reasons why I don't any more. It's just too hard and too many questions when an accident happens without answers.

Right now, family and friends are the priority. Support them the best you can. Remember the good times.
