What's the general opinion of Sea Sport boats? I've had the opportunity to purchase a 2001 Navigator 2700 at a very reasonable price. Has only 138 verified hours and was kept in an indoor heated storage building. Looks like a new boat. Powered with the 375hp 8.1 engine and has a 15hp kicker as well as almost every possible option available including 3 axle trailer.

Tough little suckers. There's a few in our marina being used as work boats and they seem endless. It will haul **s with that motor.

I've looked at several at boat shows, and been aboard a couple on the water. They seem well made, though for my preference (long cruises) I'm not very fond of the cabin layout. Seems like they could have made a more usable galley, especially the sink and counter area.

I'd sure want to check out that low-use engine.

I've owned two SeaSport boats, both a 2400XL powered by a 5.7 and a 27 foot Navigator powered by twin Volvo Penta 250's. Here in South Central Alaska I'd say that the SeaSport boats are the standard by which all trailerable boats are held to. They are as solid of a boat as you can buy! Both of the boats that I owned for three years each were both used when I purchased them. When I went to sell them I actually had people in line and the selling price was higher then my original purchase price. Some people claim that an Osprey is a better boat but I personally would argue that one. Compare the construction of each! I've never seen a SeaSport(Older Models) with any delamination problems.I can show you a used 29 foot Osprey parked down the street from me that has been for sale for two years that has come "Unglued".You will love the SeaSport!!! If I could own another fishing boat it would be a SeaSport, but for now I'll settle for a Trawler. By the way you will really love that kicker for trolling.

I'm not sure if it's well known or not but Ospreys are now owned by SeaSport and manufactured under SeaSport standards. SeaSport bought Osprey when they got into financial trouble and now plan on manufacturing them in their factory in Bellingham, WA. Visiting the SeaSport dealer in Bellingham was a wealth of information about SeaSport and Osprey boats. I just have to decide if I want to sell my Glasply and incur some debt in buying the SeaSport. I like the SeaSport and think that a trailable boat would be nice for fishing purposes but somewhat more limiting in cruising due to beam and length.

BillV-I mentioned that I was dealing with older SeaSports a 1993 and a 1995. If I recall correctly the older Osprey's were constructed with some kind of foam core. The area that the Osprey near me had problems was with a swim step that was molded into the stern, which I beleive they discontinued due to problems. I looked at the new model SeaSports while we were attending the Seattle boat show and liked what I saw. Personally I'd be looking for a diesel!

Since coming across this SeaSport I've looked into the Volvo diesel powered versions and like what I see. Would consider a 2600 with the 260hp Volvo much more then an 8.1 gas version for sure. The hard part for me is selling a boat that has no payments and buying a boat that will have one. Not sure I like that feeling although a diesel powered one is attractive and being a trailerable boat has certian advantages to me being I love to fish.

You make me laugh Bill, remember asking me about Yanmar diesels and I told you to pony up and go with the 240 diesels but, decided staying with gas? I think overall, that GlasPly w/diesels would have been everything you wanted. Oh well, such is life.

Seasport probably builds a better quality boat than Bertram did. How's that for an opinion?

What part of GALE WARNING did you not understand?
