Hello Sailors,

need your advice, please! A friend is considering purchasing a 1985 14' Aquacat II, includes a trailer - only been in fresh water, supposedly in 'very good condition', asking $700.00. I believe a one owner boat, but not sure on this.

Is this a good price and do you have any advice on what to counter offer and any suggestions on what to look for ?

Sorry, no pics available.

Appreciate any suggestions and comments as we are not sailors! THANKS!

The Aqua Cat was a low end boat--and not much more than price that when new in the 70's and 80's. They are much slower than a comperable Hobie, and do not sail as well to weather. I would prefer a good Hobie at the same price.

Hey Defboat,

Don't worry about your friend, let him by the boat. Then take your money and find a nice Hobie perferably the 18 with a jib. If the 16, still with a jib. I must say, Ive owned a lot of boats and had lots of crew but never a friend who was looking out for my money.
