ADVERTISING SALES ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE, BOATING TIMES LONG ISLAND

Boating Times Long Island is an exciting regional monthly publication. From reviews of Long Island harbors to places to explore once you arrive, Boating Times Long Island is the magazine designed to increase boating fun for boaters, friends, and families. Since every day aboard or ashore should be enjoyed safely, Boating Times Long Island also features articles on safe boating for adults and children, and easy to do maintenance tips. Only Boating Times Long Island uniquely focuses on day trips and new experiences for the entire Long Island boating community.

We are seeking a highly skilled Advertising Sales Account Executive to sell print display advertising Long Island businesses, with secondary responsibilities for online advertising. Additional duties include prospecting and pitching leads through cold calling; following up on these leads via face-to-face meetings, email, telephone; building and maintaining relationships; customer service; and attending industry events and the like.

The ideal candidate must have a proven record of success in a growing business with evidence of strong leadership and organization skills. An established client base and terrific growth opportunities are available for the right producer.

CANDIDATE’S REQUIREMENTS

2+ years of sales experience preferably in print, media or advertising
High volume face-to-face sales experience and telephone customer interaction
College degree or equivalent
High level of confidence, pride and professionalism
Strong communication, selling and negotiating skills
Assertive, self-motivated, innovative personality with high level of initiative to solicit new business and retain existing client base
Proficient with Microsoft Office Software/Word/Excel/Outlook and knowledge of database software preferred
Maintain a strong commitment to customer service
Boating and non-boating advertising sales experience for other publications a major plus

COMPENSATION
Compensation for this position will be competitive and commensurate with skills and experience.
