I was wondering how long it would take before your post appeared...

As has been mentioned in the past it helps if you actually own the type of boat the forum is about before volunteering to moderate it.

And I would accept. This place needs to liven up a bit (well maybe not as much as LICC but a bit) and I am an experienced Mod on http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/ (20K Members/5K Active). I am also connected 24/7.

Les, let me know if you would like me to step up to the plate.

Jeff

Thanks for the nomination, Dave.

Problems are made to be solved. A can of RAID or my size 11 Nike can and will handle that problem. Who in their right mind has a pet spider? I am starting to think that maybe Bob is the man for the job.

How about some of the posts on Jeff’s Web Forum, sounds like NBR is tame compared to this:

I think I would make a good moderator. I would certainly liven up the forum by attracting more posters, and I'm good at finding out information on things by searching the web, so not being a Formula owner has nothing to do with it.

Supporting the forum can be done in many ways, one of which would be to spend my time moderating a forum. A moderator's responsibility includes enforcing the rules, generating interest and posts, and making the forum popular and useful.

I'm sure I would do a good job, and this offer is not in any way a joke, or a troll, or anything like that. I would consider it an honor to help out Boatered.com and my friend Les by moderating this forum.

And if you recall, one of Les's rules was that you should own the type of boat that the forum is about to be moderator but I guess the rules only apply to others.

The rule makes great sense too, for example I'd be a terrible moderator for the California Delta forum since I know little about the area.

I know I've made this suggestion before but why don't you get enough people together to create a Larson forum. Then you'd have a fair shot at moderating it.

Bob, when I go to the doctor, I want someone that has been to medical school and has working knowledge of how to treat my condition. I could search the internet myself and find an answer, but without KNOWING I looked it up correctly, I would be risking my health and possibly my life.

The same principal applies to this, ask Les about a Larson forum. Start a poll in ATC to see how may Larson owners are here.

I have never been on a Formula, or a Larson. I know that I would have ZERO first hand experience and could not do a good job.

If you really want to help out, buy an anchor and get Les to start a Larson or bowrider forum. FYI, I am not picking on you about your bowrider, I own one too.

Personally, I think that Bob would be a very good moderator. There is nothing to lose and everything to gain by allowing him to honor his statements.

Just asking .... seems like there may be many who have supported this site financially who woukd also be just as qualified. While Bob probably has good intentions, he has no experience with the brand of boat mentioned, has given bad and incorrect informaion in the past, and has been sent to the "penaly box" more than once by Les. Just my 2 cents worth.

I think a moderator should be anchored as a sign of support and to set an example for the people who come to the site.
I also think the moderator should have experience with that particular subject.
I moderate the LICC cause I live and boat on Long Island.
I wouldn't think of moderate the HRCC area!

Remember, there aren't as many Formula owners as others.
Jeff, have you ever toured the Formula factory?
If you haven't you should. Every owner needs to see how their boats are made, and the quality, fit and finish that goes into each one.

Gary,

Yes, I did take the tour and met with a few folks from there and as it turned I was lucky enough to be able to schedule a tour of the factory on the very day that my boat was born:

And I would agree that everyone that buys one of their boats takes advantage of their hospitality and learn what goes into making a Formula boat.

Jeff,
I agree. I have a photo album of pictures taken by myself, and my rep. throughout the building of the boat. Its a great conversation piece for anyone who visits me on the boat.
It starts witht the gelcoat being sprayed in the mold, and ends with the new boat shrunkwrapped outside on the trailer, ready for delivery.
