I have had a bit of work done on my boat by Delta Boat Works, including repairs after I damaged the bottom paint and running gear last year. Wes Williams is the man who makes sure the job is done right. The prices are maybe a little higher than some other shops, but I have found the quality of the work to be top notch and worth the extra coin. I keep my boat at Riverside Marina on the Delta Loop, which is the same location of Delta Boat Works. I leave a set of keys with Wes so it's very convenient for me to call Wes and he takes care of everything.

Matt is the owner of Pacific Boat Center. When boat sales are brisk, he hires repairmen. They can be from excellent to stupid. But Matt will stand behind his service. If Matt does the work, as he is doing now, you can be assured that he knows what he is doing. He is certified by both Merc and Volva Penta, but also works on outboards.

He may or may not meet your deadline. That is typical with delta workmen.

He always makes good on his work.

Liz,

I have to ask ....... how did you manage to get two votes to register for your mechanic?

its probably a hosting things because of the anonymous vote

i will not vote for myself, or ask others either

I'm a 1 man shop that knows 80% more than all shops

I pay my own way through tech classes 2 times a year, un-like 99% of shops/dealers
because they think the tech will ask for more and/or go else where

I will answer question's all day for free also

I only voted once as far as I know. After I had voted, I decided to make a comment and so I came back to the topic to add those. At that time, there was only one vote for Matt/PBC. I have no idea IF or HOW I voted twice.........

Afternote: yesterday my browser locked up my computer. The only solution which worked was to turn off the power to the hard drive at the power bar. I may have still been logged onto BE at that time. If so, someone else could have hacked in, though I don't know why anyone would want to do that just to vote for Matt.....

How about Kent at Bethel Harbor, have had many hours of work done by him and they have always been great.

I've never used Kent, but hear good things about him. Bethel Harbor seems to hire knowledgeable, trustworthy mechanics. They are pricey though. I guess you get what you pay for!

Dave,

I have already voted but I suggest that you add Leith of Nordic Marine for diesel engines. All of the Sea Ray people (and two are engineers) consider him the top diesel guy in the area.

I see Dave added Nordic as requested, but no one has voted for that one! Let's see some support!

I'll vote for Kent down at Bethal Harbor. He has done my old 28 Bayliner for 6 years. It just sold without a surney because of the records and work that Kent has done. The new boat has desiels and they will be doing work on it also. They have always completed work when they said and Jamie is always there to answer questions.

I can't say enough good about Nick at River City Boat Works!!! He and his crew went out of there way to make me a happy customer. I am usually shy to recommend someone, but not in this case, Nick and his crew get four gold stars! is there a way to add to the first post?

:)
