A month or two ago I spent 2200.00 on my boat after it flooded a bit (putting it mildly) As a result, last week I spent 400.00 on a new gimble bearing and outdrive seal. Launched at Santa Cruz Friday and the steering was frozen and would barely move while using two arms to turn. I troll so I figured I would go fishing for salmon anyway because I troll out of Capitola on a 150 course to the Soquel Hole. By going straight, I barely had to use the wheel. Once there I made one 360 turn and trolled back in on a 300 course again barely using the wheel. It is being repaired today which will cost 3-350.00. So if anyone knows any other phrases from B.O.A.T other than Bring Out Another Thousand let me know. Thinking of you Flutterby with your long time phrase about a hole in the water you throw money into. Caught two salmon though.

Good deal on the salmon. I'm jealous, as much as I love salmon fishing, I haven't found the time to get out yet this year.

DBH, you are spelling it wrong. Inflation has changed the spelling to B-o-a-t-t- that is, break out another two thousand.

As much as I miss my boat, I sure am glad I no longer have to B.O.A.T. My son got the boat for free, but has had to break out about $4k to repair the boat and trailer prior to his road trip to Fairbanks Alaska. If it hadn't been Charlie, the cost would have been another $1-2k.......
DBH, I feel your pain! Those are very expensive salmon you caught!
