Anyone out there with one? Looking at one with the 3208 NA diesels. Owner says it won't go much faster than 12 knots. Paperwork says it should do 20knots, 17 cruise. Think there is too much prop--owner says not getting but 2500rpm. Help.

Should get 4,500 RPMs WOT on gas according to specs. Hull speed is at least 20 knots (done low 20s in perfect conditions) but my top end is consistently 19 knots. Not sure about diesels as mine are gas, although same year, make and model on the hull. I reproped and got great results (I went smaller to got to specs). Great boat, solid as a rock.

I found this in another forum-

I run mine up to WOT every 25 hours or so to make sure all is well. I am slightly under-wheeled so I can get 2950 RPM on lighter loads which is fine for the brief moments that it's there. I think Cat says 90% of 2,800 RPM for max cruise or approx. 2500 RPM.

They should do about 2800 WOT, 2500 is operating speed.
