I agree Mike but with this economy and time of year? In late 2005 I paid more for the boat ($110,000.00) than I am asking for it now and it was bare bones. The cost included none of the upgrades, repower or replacement systems. I own the boat free and clear. Bill

It's not impossible to sell in this market. You need to come across someone who is looking for you boat model and can appreciate all of the investment. Not easy but not impossible.
Good luck.

Bill, Don't rule out taking down hardtop for shipping- we ship boats all over and every aft cabin has to have the aft deck hardtop removed, along with a lot of flybridge stuff so it is possible. Whoever buys your boat is getting an amazing deal.

Tony honestly taking the top and pipework down is almost impossible. The entire electronics, AC and solar would have to removed from the hardtop, then the Aluminum pipework all welded would need to be unbolted from the structure, prior to that all the wiring would have to be removed. Once it got to it's destination all the wiring and components would have to be reinstalled after the hardtop and pipework were reinstalled. You would probably be looking at 1/3 of the cost of the asking price in labor alone. Trust me this boat has to sell in the immediate 5-6 state area. I have no doubt it could make the trip to Florida via the waterways but I wouldn't even want to think about the fuel charges. Bill

Mark your boat is a 10 and also diesel powered. It has been for sale for how long now? Your boat cosmentically kills mine. It's also a desirable brand". Comparing the 2 boats is like apples to oranges. But I know you won't discount the boat. It's a buyers market. I have a trawler I am real interested in, another one off. It's listed here on BE (41' Hilton Pilothouse Trawler). That boat coupled with my eleconics and sitting in my garage a new 600 watt solar system is my idea of our dream boat. Bill

Bill, Your mainship is immaculate. If someone so much as pokes their head into the engine room and doesn't realize what a steal it is they are crazy. As you know we just sold a 1996 the other week and your engine room looks absolutely band new compared to that one.

Neal at this stage I might be boatless well I still also have the 22' MACO I had customized for my Son. I am done with the idea of a diesel repower of the Mainship. That would be a waste of money. The boat just isn't built for what I eventually want to do. If it doesn't sell I will still be happy with her I just don't see any long distance cruising using her. This would be a great boat for a family with 2-3 kids. Sleeps 6 comfortably. Bill

That's funny I get that comment all the time. Every antenna except 2 are in use. I have a spare VHF antenna in case the 16' were to break and a spare cellular antenna I use for various cellular USB modems with various adapters for different cellular services. Other than that every antenna is active and hooked up to working equipment. Bill

Keep in mind I am not selling the 2 satellite domes/ systems. They are the Direct TV KVH M-3 on the port side and the Skipper FB-150 on KVH service on the starboard side. Well I would leave them on but we would have to negotiate. I paid almost $5k for the KVH Direct TV and $5k for the Satellite Fleet Broadband unit. The DTV costs about $120 a month in fees and the Sat phone $55.00 a month with virtually no usage. But if you want to keep the look dummy domes can be purchased for a few hundred each. The steps are great also the front panel drops down and you can walk straight out to the bow from the helm. Bill

too much.......... however removing some of the equipment and 8D's will reduce the weight and fuel burn. About 23-25gph depending on speed, tide, wind etc. Much lower putting around at hull speed.

Bump; trades considered looking to downsize to a single screw diesel powered trawler 32-36 foot range. Prefer a fiberglass hull. Special; for the next 2 weeks I will add one of the to be removed items if I get a decent offer. You pick the item. The boat will be in the water through November come and see it at Total Marine in Little Egg (Tuckerton) NJ. Call to discuss the boat's main phone number is 609-350-2804. Bill

This doesn't sound too high but at what speed I guessing you are getting about 1 mile per gallon (just a guess) If so sounds about average. With those new motors at that price this boat is a steal!

Dave unlike many repowers not only are the motors new, the transmissions are new the V drives were upgraded with new Walter RV40's to handle the new horsepower they are also new. The shafts (Aquamet 22's), cutlass bearings and drippless logs were installed prior to launching the boat this season. The generator was replaced when the engines so it is pretty new only 175 hours on it. The motors and genset (Kohler 7.3ECD Low CO)are also California emissions approved. The ER is spotless you could eat off the floor. Bill

I forgot she also has a Furuno NAVTEX receiver (NX-300) fantastic for up to date NTM's and weather warnings. If the person buying the boat is a ham operator I will leave the Icom IC7000 160 meter through 432MHz all mode transciever and general coverage SWL reciever installed. It's great for listening to the cruisers net as well as shortwave radio. Bill

My boat will do 30 knots WOT but not cruise at that speed you burn in excess of 60GPH at 31.9 knots. At hull speed it burns about 6-8 gallons an hour which includes running the generator. We are on the boat now and enjoying it! Bill & Jan

I get exact hull speed numbers early this evening. We will be taking her for a short late afternoon early evening cruise today. I actually think the numbers are a bit lower but hull speed or least fuel burned other than idling at the dock is pretty slow I believe between 6-7knots if even that high a speed. Bill

Good luck, someone is REALLY going to make out and will be saying "I freakin stole this" to everyone he knows.
Wish it was me!
Stick to your rule. I used to live by that rule and still try too. People call me crazy and say every business owner carries debt. If more people were like you and I the country wouldn't be in the shape it is today. Your welcome to stop by anytime you are in the area. Hint I'm a late sleeper when I'm on the boat. I really should have named her "Relax Inn" instead or "Wireless One". Bill & Jan

She burns about 4.5-5 GPH at hull speed with the generator under full load (all three heat pumps running). Bill

Every faucet in the boat was upgraded and replaced in 2009/2010. This boat has a fantastic stand alone shower with a molded seat for 2. No sitting on the Marine Elegance or getting the head wet! This is a tough market. So far I have had a few local lookers only one inerested party but they didn't have the credit or money. As I mentioned make me a reasonable offer but this boat really needs to be shown or looked at to appreciate all the quality work done to her. Bump.

All, if you have never been on a 40 mainship you need to check this boat out. It has a great, great layout and excellent use of space with a HUGE cockpit, great bridge, awesome access to the bow from the bridge, full beam width salon with large dinette and galley, and great stateroom and head layout. Excellent design and a very liveable layout. At this price you are getting one heck of a boat!

Tony the layout of the Salon, Dinette and Galley are really nice everything is on the same level. If you don't like ladders there are none. Also it's only a step down to the head, master stateroom and dual bunk beds to port. Walking from the cockpit to the bow in rough weather is a real plus. The bridge is huge and on my boat only 1 of 2 that I have ever seen has the double finished hardtop complete with AC or Heat. I know I have beat this to death but the boat has all 31 series AGM Lifeline batteries except the optional house/inverter bank they are Lifeline 8D's. In the cockpit side and rear stern lockers I installed drains and plumbing so they drain off the boat out above the water using new side through hulls. Mainship simply had them drain into the ER bilge by doing this it keeps the ER bilge looking new and easy to keep looking that way. The shower and head floor hoses were relaced in 2008. The boat lighting with the exception of one small 110 VAC 40 watt table lamp is 100% LED many are dual color fixtures. Bill

wish I was looking for a bigger boat, Bill. I'd be at your house in a minute, but with a deployment looming, I'm going to miss most of the next boating season. Don't let the guy from the Silverton forum looking for a fire sale steal it.

Did I miss the thruster listing Bill? Looks like one in the one photo.
