I have both a 2000 and a 1000w Honda. I checked out the parallel cord and it says that its OK to parallel 2 2000's to get 4000w, it's OK to parallel 2 1000's to get 2000w. My question is, can I parallel the 2000 and the 1000, and get 3000w. The people at the Honda dealer were not sure. Any answers ? Thanks

Call Honda in Georgia and ask them: (678) 339-2600
Ask for customer support. And if that doesn't work, try the Yahoo! Honda generator group. My gut feeling would be "no". You could just split the loads between them though.

Using a special cable or kit, you can link two EU1000i, two EU2000i, two EU3000 Handi, or two EU3000is generators together to get as much as double the output. (Please note: you can only parallel two identical units together.)

Thanks. Honda confirmed "NO" they have to be the same models to parallel them.
