In that case if the wind comes mostly out of the South it could be on your beam and depending on how the boat handles that could make for a bumpy ride. The more it's coming out of the West the better the ride I would expect.

I would double check the forecasts for your route and then poke my nose out to see how it is. But be prepared to abort and wait for it to lay down a bit.

The two most common elements on Earth are oxygen and stupidity.

Great, now take it to NBR.

Caltexfla was great!
We left wrightsvile Beach NC Monday afternoon and spent the night on Moorehead City Yacht Basin. We met our Boatered firiend, George Heckman who took us food shopping and helped us chart out the ICW to Norfolk. What a great guy!
Day two ran to Vigina Beach.
Day three got pushed into a place called Wachapreaque Va. Due to heavy NE . I have been searching for the proper words to describ this quite back water town. I will just say that the people andCoast Guard were the salt of the earth. They helped us with everything from food to a coast guard escort in and out of the marsh lagoon to the inlet. A place where time has stood still! Hats off to Sadie and her husband Rich who ran town Marinia
Day four at 3 PM wind laid down to 15 out of the NE and we had a bummpy ride but made Ocean City MD by 9 PM.
Day four at 6 AM flat ocean made City Island NY at 1: 45 PM with a fuel stop in Point Pleasant NJ.
Great trip lot of fun, great people along .

Thanks for the report. I often wonder why more folks dont go the offshore route in settled weather. I dont have detailed charts but it looks like an area where there should be places to duck in and wait out bad weather.
