Between Schooners and Bracco's.

It is going to be called Tropics.

They are taking over where the gambling boat docked previously.

From what I hear it is going to be..........oh yeah I almost forgot, if I post too much information on this forum about a certain business to share with everyone, it will just get deleted...

Just want to let people know what is coming this Summer to Freeport...

Why did you start with a nice post with good information and have to end up with adding a negative spin to it?

What's up with that? It was good information at a start to our season. If you don’t like BoaterEd… Go to that other forum…

I was only stirring the pot a little bit, that's all..

They are doing construction now and are trying to open for memorial day weekend.

VERY large outdoor bar and dining.

Plenty of slips and at least 2 large slips for the big beams.

This will definitely be one of the better destinations on the mile...

We need boat slips on the canal. I know about that thing at the end by the gas dock. When the tide gets going its a rough spot to be in.Also some security would be nice. The public dock half way down the canal is nice but the fish guys are using it for there business . Kinda sucks .

Could be a cool spot but the crowds will follow for sure. Sounds like they are going right at the Bracco's crowd. Not my thing for anything but interesting eye candy! Wish they had some more public docking down in that area. Great place to eat, walk and do some people watching.

My Marina ( BWYC ) is also opening up a resturant on the Marina property. They are building the deck now. Hopefully it will be nice . I think they will use the gas docks and T's after hrs for the resturant. We will see.

Didn't BWYC used to have a restaurant? I can't remember the name of the place we used to go to down that way.

Cucina bay was at whale neck point marina. I had my boat there for 3 years. Cucina Bay is now called boathouse (at least it was called that 3 years ago)

The bwyc restaurant definatley had the word clam in it.

With that open exposure, a breezy day will produce a lot of docking entertainment.

BWYC never had a resturant, they had a Club house. The cozy clam and all its reiventions was down the blk at the next marina.

Cucina bay became the Boathouse when Lenny wouldnt renew the agreement with the guys that own the PIT STOP. ( the pitstop crew did all the cooking )

Im told the guy opening the resturant had a place called Fabios ?? Supposed to be a very good cook.

I guess in time we willsee. Merrick Needs a nice water front eatery.

I was on the mile last summer with the small boat, and I saw that boat. There is an old guy and I believe he lives on the boat. If I am not mistaken, there is usually a small 17 footer or so that rafts off the stern of that boat.

I hope there will be slips available for boats to tie up and eat there. It's always nice to have another destination for dining and Merrick is a lot closer than the Nautical Mile.
