I just received the following email from State Delegate Jay Jacobs:
Dear Michael,
Now that Sine Die has come and the 2012 General Assembly is over, I can tell you that HB 1345-Sales and Use Tax – Luxury Surcharge has failed. This bill thankfully, did not get out of committee for a full House vote.
Hopefully, neither this nor other tax bills get new life when or if a special session is called.
I appreciated hearing from you and agree this bill was a terrible idea with so many people in Maryland struggling with their budgets.
Sincerely, Delegate Jay A. Jacobs
