Well.....after 15 years at Stony Point Bay Marina I have moved to Haverstraw. I really enjoyed my time there but felt it was time for something new. A great slip was available next to some friends so I made the move. I'm looking forward to a great season.

As your new neighbor welcome to the marina I too will miss certain things about the old place but I have been very happy in our new home and look forward to a great season!

Yup. You need to change your Homeport tag. There's so many of us with the same Homeport tag we should probably put our slip number there too so nobody gets confused.

:)

I tried to tell you this at the beginning of the season. I believe even you would be welcome:) I think it would be cool to have three Trojans on the same dock. The best part is I have about 16' at low tide how great is that!

Having water under the boat and not having to live by the tides would be a wonderful thing, but for me, there are more important things in choosing a marina. Haverstraw is not my "cup of tea"

I agree water is not the only thing having good friends and a well run office is just as important. Enough of our friends all moved together and I have only met nice people at the dock so I'm good in that department as for a well run office I couldn't ask for a nicer more professional staff they have gone out of their way to make it a pleasant experience.

OK it does cost more but in the overall scope of boating costs the increase is out weighed by the benefits in my book!

I'm not knock SPBM this has never been my intent I enjoyed many years there but as Hank said it was time to move on.

It is a welcome pleasure to see so many new Friendly boaters on "Blue Dock" ! I think you will really enjoy what Haverstraw Marina has to offer, not to mention the deep water. I myself have been here 24years and just love it!
Here's to a beautiful fun summer and a wonderful safe boating season!!!

All you dock Mary's who thought it was too cold for boating today missed a great time. We went down to Sandy Hook for lunch and took a tour through the Newark harbor. That was pretty cool. Went as far up the Hackensack River as we could too. Saw a lot of bridges from a different angle today.

well if I cruised at 40 mph I too could make trips like this but I still wouldn't have made that trip today.
Glad you had a good time.

Trader!

I went down on Saturday and was suprised to see you left. Your slip was empty for probably 5 minutes before it was filled. Have a great summer at Haverstraw.

Mike there is still more room for you at the dock I noticed you weren't in yet why not come join us. At this point we are at 6 former D dock members and counting:)
Did I mention 16' at low tide!
I will work on John as well, it would be nice to all be together again.

Dave, just wondering, how is the water there at low tide? Can you get in/out or do you have to wait?

I'd like to field that question. You see, Dave is one slip in from me so he only has 16'. I on the other hand have closer to 17'. This does come with it's drawbacks though. In the old marina when I dropped something in the water, I could just scoot off the edge of the dock and pick it up with my feet. Now I need to hire a scuba diver. :p

I went in on Friday and took the slip FKA-Season Ticket. I am paid in full and staying where I sit. Haverstraw has it's pluses and minuses, so I'm good for now.

Now if they installed stripper poles on the docks that would be another story.

Mike glad to hear you are in looks like everyone is moving to the outside slips are they charging more? In the past they use to charge a 40' minimum for those slips I'm thinking they are happy to fill them now.

I'll speak to management but I don't think they will go for the stripper poles it's a different clientele there I don't think it would go over well.

"Dave, just wondering, how is the water there at low tide? Can you get in/out or do you have to wait?" LOL only thing I have to wait for is the desire to strike me.

How is it living in Hotel California?

Sorry for that. I had no idea I was moving. I was there a week ago Saturday and saw an open slip, decided on Wednesday to move and moved last Saturday. I'm sure I'll see you ut there. I heard I wasn't out of the chanel before Budcation took my slip. Good for him.
