Hey guys....I do most of my boating on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, occasionally we will run in the Mullica river area. We just recently upgraded from a 22’ crownline to a 27’ sundancer. We are still avid trailer boaters though. My question is, are there any ramps on or relatively close to Sea Isle that can accommodate a bunk trailer that size? I need good water to float on and off. We have family that has a house on the bay in Sea Isle, and we would like to trailer down and put in close by. I know the ramps a Cramer’s at the mouth of the Mullica are sufficient enough, but would like something closer to the island. Any local input is greatly appreciated!

Crown,
Not from that area but i did launch 17 footer from the ramp to the right of the bridge as you enter into Sea Isle. Not sure of the street names but when you take exit 17 off the GS parkway it leads you to the Sea Isle bridge. The ramp is off to the right. One caution is there is a sign in the water noting the end of the ramp. The sign is not exactly where the ramp ends. I walked off the end and screwed up my knee royally. You may not be able to get your trailer in far enough to float your Sea Ray due the pitch of the ramp. Maybe someone else can add info. sorry for the limited info.

There is about a six feet difference from low to high tide in those parts, so just about any ramp will work at high tide, and with a 27 footer, pretty much none of them will work at low tide. The 4 closest that I recall are the one right in sea isle, at 42nd street. A few miles north in Corsons Inlet state park there is a ramp, a few miles south in avalon manor there is a ramp, and one at 55th street or so in Avalon.
I'd say 55th in avalon is the best of them, followed by sea isle and corsons, with avalon manor being the smallest/shallowest.

I have never used the Sea Isle ramp but have used two others that are relatively nearby.
One is the municipal ramp in Ocean City NJ, Tennesee Avenue. With a boat that big you will need to time the launch with high tide as mentioned earlier.
The second is in North Wildwood - another municipal ramp. I can get the address if you are interested.
Both ramps are kept in fairly good condition.

There is a public unkept ramp in Strathmere at the Southern end of Bay Avenue. You can only use it at mid to high tide and it is very short. Make sure you wear foot protection about 20 years ago I almost lost the heel of my bare foot when I stepped on the short end of a broken beer bottle in the ramp mud. 40 or 50 stitches later the flap of my foot was put back together.
For all I know the ramp may no longer be there. My father in law actually owned part of the property the ramp was on the balance of his lot is now underwater. My wife's family has 3 homes on the Bay in Strathmere. Her Aunt owned Flo's or it might have been called Flory's on the Bay.
