In the 90s Sea doo produced a rigid inflatable boat with a wave runner power plant. Does anyone have an personal knowledge or opinions on this craft? I have only seen one and they seem pretty cool. Thanks

Not sure where you're located, but I think I just saw one advertised on Craigslist in my area. I don't have any personal knowledge, but IMO, while it looks like it might be fun for a short period, I'm not sure how practical it is. It seems that it's something that's trying to be something else...if that makes sense. I'd prefer to either have a rib, or have a jetski, not somthing that is almost both.

Zodiac makes what you're describing. It's called a projet and I believe has a yamaha jet drive and powerplant.

A friend of mine bought one last year. It's an early model, known for being under-powered and poorly balanced, so I tried to talk him out of it. I think he paid about $800, and he had a blast with it all summer... Aside from an accidental near-sinking and leaking tubes (the stupid thing has drain plugs at the BOW), it's been relatively trouble-free. I'd still recommend a later one though.

those things are one of the best things sea doo ever produced the reason it was discontinued is you could do a very high g turn at full throttle flinging passengers out. I hope they bring it back with a four stroke their safety computer limited steering and their brake system that works awesome......that thing is a blast to drive

I had one for about 4 years and it was fantastic. Best fun on water iI had. I used it as a tender. Amazingly soft ride. And yes I have flung people out when cornering. i regretted selling it (brought 2052 Trophy which is a different sort of fun).
