I've never heard of most of those publications. If they got you on yachtworld that'd be one thing... Otherwise at least on iboats and usedboats.com...

I don't know, I wonder how you'd confirm the "thousands" of classifieds listings, etc... When I sold my previous boat, I hired a broker that promised everything, then did nothing. I fired them and sold the boat on my own. $200 might not be much but obviously they're making money somehow so I doubt they'll purchase over $200 in ads for you. My guess is you could find better use for that advertising money.

These type of deals are a SCAM! They take your money up front and may or may not actual post your boat for sale. No follow up; no cares.....they already have your money. The $200 mentioned is just to get their foot in the door. They are actually trying to sell you on thousands of dollars---up front---with NOTHING put words. Save your money!

[just my opinion based on others experiences]

Long years ago a guy got into doing that with Real estate. (the vig was $1500. then)

So now you know what they were going to do, and where, so do it yourself!
See if you saved any money over the advertising, and see if you get any more 'looks' than your getting right now.
That's the only way you'd ever know if it was a Scam or a legit effort.

I think it is best to use a broker if your serious about selling your boat.
I have not signed with a broker yet because I really don't want to sell my boat
but the reality is I should sell it while it's still fresh from the repower and upgrades.

tell them you're happy to give them the $199 AFTER the boat is sold through one of the sites they advertise it in. my guess is they won't even bother to reply.
