Yesterday was gorgeous on the river. We went over to Croton, but it too rocky to raft-up, so we went into Bowline. The sky was crystal clear and the water was perfect for swimming.

Dave managed to snag a tree trunk with his anchor, but some helpful souls helped him get it off.

We came back in around 11 PM, it was dark out there. We expected to see Hank heading out...

Red Peters song fest at the dock to end the night!

Where's the sun today?

Great weekend I'm a bit "stumped" about the tree incident but as you said the boat came to my aid in time so no harm done!

Today we made the NYC loop got to check out the space shuttle very cool nice day! Burned some fuel probably more today then the entire rest of the season but it was worth it.

I did the NYC loop last weekend. Seeing the shuttle really was cool & I had two of my nephews with me who got a huge kick out of it. I agree on the fuel though! It's an expensive ride even though my boat is much smaller than yours. I'll probably stay local the rest of the season.

Seems there is more than one benefit to being south on the river. We did the loop around the city twice this season and the fuel gauge hasn't even moved. Made for a couple of really nice 4 hour cruises that cost very little. Hull speed is slow but very efficient and you see much more. That 2 hours up and down the river every time we wanted to go somewhere can really add up.

Boats, yup, 5 of em...

John you got that right two hours adds up $$ I try not to think about it much or I will end up selling the boat! I'm planning two trips out to the Sound one in a few weeks to Norwalk for a few days and then again in August for about 12 days Hitting stops like Port Jeff, Mystic, Green port and Block not is this order and the stops might change but this is the plan at the moment. These trips will help keep the economy going. I don't even want to think about how much fuel I will burn but I will enjoy myself and that's the reason we all own boats!

Dave, the fuel is not the most expensive part, the dockage is!

I'm the rare boater that hates heat! Always have & seems to get worse as I get older. I like the boat trips but love & prefer the short jumps to Croton or Bowline to anchor, grill, hang out with friends and swim all day. I'm actually a winter lover, grin ear to ear during snowstorms. Love winter sports, lugging wood into the house & even shoveling. Yes, i know...I am nuts....I hear it often!!

Windy weekend but a nice one. Quick ride Saturday night and Sunday we took the kids and their friends tubing followed by a BBQ at Croton while listening to the music from the Clearwater festival.

I got a nice burn yesterday because I am the ultimate procrastinator. Someone just asked me where I went on vacation because I'm so burned. Thank got it’s not blistering up, that always sucks.

This is true these trips usually cost somewhere about 4k if I remember again I try not to add up boating costs much to depressing!

I live for the Summer I hate the Winter! I tend to hibernate in the Winter time and think about boating. I like the occasional snow but that wears thin real quick! I don't love the extreme heat of the Summer but that's why you will find me in the raft ups that run their generators so I can have my AC running:)

Dave,
When are you heading out there? We are doing Montauk on August 3/4 then heading over to Block. Not sure yet from there, but Essex is on my list.

I hear you about keeping the economy going. Last year I burned over 4200 gallons and from the looks of it, I'll be close to that this year. I'm already over 700 gallons.

Greg you can win that price that a contest I hope to loss. It sounds like our trips will overlap I will let you know the exact plans as we firm things up but I'll be in Mystic while your in Montauk then I'm heading to Green Port for two nights and over to Block for two nights and then on to Essex this is the tentative plans anyway. I'm sure we will speak before then and go over things. Maybe we can get Ben to join us as well.
