Looks cool.

I certainly hope they weren't made in China!

I heard on the traffic report thatthey stopped traffic on the Ches bay bridge beause they thought it wold distract drivers, as well as it was going to be a tight fit under the bridge.

Where were these things coming from? They couldn't have come through the C&D Canal from areas such as Philly or from the Atlantic, becuse the clearance on the bridges on the C&D are quite a bit less than the Ches Bay bridge.

We were part of the escort for deliveries of container cranes to two new terminals in Jacksonville FL. Ours came in on special barges and passed under the "Dames Point" (N.B.Broward) bridge over the St. Johns River. Dames Point has a 175-foot vertical clearance. They had a spotter on top of one of the cranes when they passed under at low tide and he was ablet to touch the bottom of the bridge.

Since they passed under the Bay Bridge headed for Baltimore they had to come in from the ocean end, not the C&D.

I recently realized that at this stage of my life I'm now wise enough to know better, but old enough not to give a damn.

I wonder how high the roll center is for that vessel/load.

Saw the ship on the Bay yesterday anchored, impressive to look at.
I can't imagine it on heavy seas.
Sadly, the cranes were made in China and shipped here. They left April 14 and arrived in the Bay last week. Apparently cleared the Bay Bridge by 6 feet! Next is the Key Bridge going into Baltimore.

AIS says it made it to Bal'mer... no report on status of the Key Bridge, though

It was anchored in an odd place all this last week... not exactly in the normal Annapolis anchorage area, but rather closer to Bloody Point...

Mike, you're right. I had a "dee da dee" moment in thinking. Man, the heat is really getting to me today.
