Curious to know if this is an issue everyone has been having. I have a 2002 280 signature, twin Volvo 4.3 MPI. This spring I needed a new outdrive piston. Marina had a hell of a time getting one. I still need a replacement cover (kit) for the starboard engine vent (outside of boat) which has been loose since the day I purchased the boat & is now close to just falling off & I can't keep water out of my bilge, and a voltage meter, inside the boat on the control panel that shows you have shore power coming in. My cord came loose just a bit, not enough to notice, in July, but because I was unable to see that on the panel, it killed my batteries.

My marina has been waiting for these parts for months & I'm really starting to get disgusted with the whole thing.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Because honestly, if this is going to be an ongoing stressful issue then.....well, I already have enough stress in my life...the boat is supposed to be a de-stresser! Boat for sale!! LOL

The two I'm waiting for now are not Volvo though, they are Chaparral parts. I have had this boat since brand new, 2002, never had a problem before & this is beyond frustrating.

you might try contacting Chaparral direct (located in Nashville, Ga)..however boat mfgs have a habit
of dropping a line of an item and replacing (updating) it with another.

Mike, it's not. I'm not waiting on the piston anymore. They finally got that after many weeks of waiting in
May. That's long fixed. I have no engine/outdrive issues
now. And really that was the first time i ever had an issue getting a Volvo part.

I doubt if the two other parts were made by Chapparal either.

try Joe at cecilmarine.com. He's been the source for haparral parts for longer than I had our Chaparral. If anyone can get it quickly, it would be Joe. Hy
