For anyone looking to stay in the Waterford area for the Roundup, I am told that the area inside of the Waterford Flight between Locks 2 and 4 will be available to tie up overnight to visit the Roundup. The area above Lock 3 is the best spot, so I am told. Space will be available on a first come, first served basis.

Hey everyone,
I'm sitting here on the boat (YAY! We finally got to string together 5 days on this thing) and wanted to send a "save the date" message about the Waterford Tugboat Roundup.
As usual there will be a fleet of tugboats, vendors, fireworks and quite a bit of excitement. For the first time, the Chamber of Southern Saratoga County (thats me!) will be a sponsor and have a tent there. So if you come by please do say hi!
www.tugboatroundup.com
If you need help finding accomodations or local transportation (the Waterford docks will be quite busy of course) please dont hesitate to call the Chamber office at 518-371-7748, or my cell at 518-522-7251 or email me at pete at southernsaratoga.org .
AND PLEASE, be careful! The last two guys I gave advice to on a canal trip both hit rocks! As much as I like giving repair business to local marinas, I'd rather you had a good time on our waterways so you come back soon! The water levels are normal so I guess it was just bad luck, but watch those channel buoys and have your charts/GPS at the ready!
Hope everyone is having a great summer!

Pete, glad I wasn't the only one! Thanks for the help with that. All worked out well and the folks at Coyemans were super.

Thanks for the update, sorry you had a little mishap on what was otherwise a great trip. We do have some great marine facilities on the River. My other friend got his issue fixed at Shady Harbor, so I guess we spread the love around a little bit LOL. Gotta keep the local economy strong, you know
Let me know if you ever are coming this way again! And dont forget you can visit us by car, too!
