Looking for Dock staff/Tenders at Private club in Huntington NY. Must be 16 or older and experienced driving boats. We have ~25 boats moored and you will be responsible for ferrying members to and from their boats. Will be tasked with keeping docks and sail racks neat and clean. Enforce rules and maintain a clean safe environment. Memorial day-Labor day with some weekends outside of that. 8-12 per hour based on experience. RELIABILITY A MUST. What a great summer job for a kid but I always wondered why they didnít need a license, they are being paid?

My guess is because the members are not paying the kids to take them out in the boat directly. And also it is a service provided by the club, so it could be argued that the members are not "chartering" any of the tenders directly. The service is there for them to use for free.

With the new laws coming into effect, we are requiring that they have the Boater Safety certificate. If we like the applicant and they do not have one, we are doing a course at the club for members next month and we would put them in the class and pay for it. And yes, it is a GREAT Summer job!
