Took off June 23 for Bella Coola by truck and boat. My uncle and I have never been there before. The turbo in my truck went out about 1/2 way there.[/img] Had it fixed at 100 mile house on hwy 97. Drove up to Williams Lake,B.C. Then turned on to hwy 20 heading west to Bella Coola(280 miles) Ran out of black top road at Anahim Lake (82 miles to Bella Coola) Then came to the famous Hickman Pass 5000 ft elevation. You drop down to 600 ft in 7 miles. There is some 18 percent grade with the most at from 11 to 14 percent. WE left Bella Coola on the 26th. Headed to South Bentinck Arm, from there to Labouchere Channel to Upper Dean Channel. Back to Eucott bay for the night.
Left Eucott bay for Cascade Inlet. Wow water falls ever 1/4 mile from a few ft to over 1000 ft. Did not see any of the goats there. The water falls were worth the trip by themselves.
From there we went to Elcho Harbour then to Jenny Inlet. From Jenny we went to Ocean Falls (They have the biggest crabs and the best water)
Next was Shearwater for fuel via Gunboat passage. We went north end of Hunter island up to Evans inlet, dropped down to Codville Lagoon.
On the way to Namu we stopped at Kisameet bay to catch some supper. Namu has really gone down hill since Peter and his wife left. We saw some boats loading up on gear there.
We went back to Burk Channel. Spent the night at Kwatna bay (Lot of shrimp and crabs).
As it is only 40 miles back to Bella Coola and we had eaten most of our frozen food we started to fish for the freezer. As the freezer is small we could only put in 4 Lingcod, 1 Halibut, 1 King Salmon. We had about 200 lbs of filets and 100 spot prawns.

It took us 1 1/2 hours to get down the pass in to Bella Coola. It took us 3 hour to drive up to the top of the pass.
I am glade we drove to Bella Coola but I will come in from Port Hardy by boat for now on.
May your keel stay wet and your seat stay dry
