Anyone have experience replacing mufflers? I have located and purchased fiberglass replacements. Any advice?

Hi, James,

Though mine is a Bertram, I had to change a metal muffler last fall and hope my experience might help you. I chose a Centek Vernatone Mk II dual stage glass muffler. Vernatone has, as I recall, three levels (and so three costs). I bit the bullet and got the most expensive, and gosh am I glad I did (especially with my 2-stroke DD noise makers). Exhaust noise is noticeably reduced with the Vernatone, and that's borne out on the sound (db) curve on the Centek website.

Anyway, my two cents.
