I have been wondering about this as well, I have always liked the place! I have been going there for 35 years and always enjoyed it lots of fond memories.

The biggest change is the removal of the fuel docks. Brewers Dauntless Marina on the south side of the channel is always available. They have Gas and Diesel. I filled up last weekend at $3.50 gallon diesel.
House keeping on the island has improved as public perception is very valuable to the Brewer team. They have really cleaned up the North side of the island removing 30 yrs of crap that has "accumulated".
Are you looking for any specific information ?

Thanks for the response. We used to go there all the time, have not been back in many years and were thinking about it. I was wondering what improvements/upgrades have been made.

From the March Newsletter

Our IT department got the Island up and running on the Brewer computer system via a wireless bridge which now connects all three properties for computers, phones and security. Their efforts also got the new Brewer Wi-Fi up and running, which customers have commented on very positively. The former Dock Office will become the center of all activity on the Island as the old upstairs office has received a monstrous face lift, and now will serve as a Lounge or place for all to gather and enjoy some company while getting to know their neighbors. Come see it as you get back down to your boats this spring. The Island fuel dock has been closed down, as we want all fueling operations to be done at the Marina fuel dock where we have new faster fuel pumps. The Marina Manager’s office has been established immediately behind the dock office, and our new Marina Manager, Stephanie McLaughlin, is in full swing getting adjusted and set up for the coming season.

During mid–November we took on the task of cleaning and removing almost all of the bulk debris that was located on the north end of the Island. The old docks, travelift, dredge spoils box, pontoon boats, and various other debris were removed from the Island. During the course of this project, we utilized the empty dumpsters coming onto the Island to bring stone so that we could grade the interiors of the storage buildings and part of the yard to make for a cleaner environment. At the same time we cut the brush and cleaned the areas on the north end. You will be pleasantly surprised to see the potential for a really nice park type setting in the years to come.

As if this was not enough, a permit was applied for and received to replace and relocate D Dock. The “new” dock will be positioned farther north, allowing for 45’ fingers off its south side. New power pedestals and new wiring will be established on D dock, as well as on several of the fixed docks.

This is good news I may make plans to go there in August for a couple of days.

This weekend is their Lobster fest. We were thinking about going as this is our only weekend all summer that we are staying home.
