Ok, just re-read your reply in the 'Fall' post and looks like I'll pass on Haverstraw this year

Yea, Management asked about 8 slip holders from each of the 2 marina's to join monthly meetings with some of the staff & management. Hey they supply coffee & bagels!!!
Yes will definitely let you know when we're heading your way.

Does Safe Harbor insist that you are out of your slip by 10/15? That is the new rule in HM for the last few seasons even though it has been in every marina contract I have ever signed but it was never enforced.

I'm not sure if all SH Marina's have the same 'rules or guidelines'???
At Stirling Harbor I'm allowed to stay in my summer slip till sometime in December.
If i finally take the boat south this year i'll leave sometime before Thanksgiving. If i stay they prefer that i move the boat into the basin for better protection FYI, If i spend the winter at another SH marina I keep my SH Black card full Bennie's wich is $.40 off a gallon of fuel and Get 10 FREE Transient Nights at any Safe Harbor Marinas property.

So I went to the SH Marina meeting this weekend and a the corp guy that over see's the area was MIA. All the other staff was "we dont know as we find out when the public knows". That being said i was told that SH now owns/manages 88 locations, 13 more than the start of the season with many more acquisitions this year & the number of 200 being thrown around.

A friend of mine runs a marina down south that was acquired by Safe Harbor earlier this year. It was a well-run, well-liked marina before SH arrived and their corporate culture with single property acquisitions appears to be one where they wish to build on what is working well and what has made a marina successful and well-liked, personnel included. So based on that I would expect a LOT of changes at Haverstraw. In all of my travels up and down the east coast and beyond I have rarely come across a large marina that could benefit more from deep pockets and wholesale changes more than Haverstraw. And Safe Harbor appears to show up with an immediate cash infusion which Haverstraw doesn't appear to have seen, at least in any way that has meaningfully improved the (in my opinion poor) customer experience in years, perhaps decades.
It will be interesting to see how pricing is affected in some of their regions down the road where they are scooping up multiple marinas.

I was told the end of October for the closimg. I really gave a lot of thought to keeping my boat there for the winter for the extra 8 free transient nights however, after much thought I have decided to return to Patsy's bay for at least another season. Patsy's has taken very good care of me for many years I'm not ready to turn my back on them!

As of this posting it is not reflected on their website, but Haverstraw Marina was just officially acquired by Safe Harbor.

That's why I was surprised Hank did not go back to them!
This takeover will save me over $2500 on transient dockage this summer!

Heard it from a friend who works for SH. If you go to the SH website you will see It listed as one of their properties. This JUST happened two days ago.

I just got an email from Safe Harbor, confirming they have taken over. They included a survey about the conditions at the marina.

I just pulled into Safe Harbor Charleston City marina for the winter & there dock office staff was asking me about Haverstraw. Seems the think its a big marina but needs major work? I used my free transient nights for my first 10 days here.

I never liked the aluminum docks there. Noisy and very hot on the foot as I recall.

Prior manager is not spend a cent in maintenance and repairs, there is a lot of work that needs to be done to bring it up to their standards. Safe Harbor spent a lot of time there, so they know what it needs. We are looking forward to major improvements!
