I am curious if anyone has tried using the "Marine" pumps from Harbor Freight?

At $25 - $30 for a 10 to 50 GPM Stainless steel housing it sounds like a good deal.

I need to replace my livewell intake pump and/or also would like to use this as a raw water wash down.

Would love to know if they are any good and/or hold up to the environment.
Time on the water is an investment in sanity maintenance!
Its the best therapy I know.
So why can't I get my insurance to chip in for fuel?

I purchased from them once.

Never again. All junk, expensive at half the price.

I use one as a portable pump and it works OK- but it's really LOUD. I suspect it wouldn't last very long if run a lot. I originally intended to use it as a replacement for my raw water washdown pump but nixed the idea because it makes so much racket. I boat in freshwater and it looks fine after 3 seasons- no rust.
In defense of these things, I gotta say that mine pumps fine and have found it useful in some creative ways:
-clearing the bilge water after the built-ins are done
-as an emergency pump on the water
-as a washdown pump on the bow of the boat (my 25' hose won't reach from the source)
-as a winterization pump for sterndrives and outboards (hooked to the muffs)

I use it like Arks. It's a portable so it's not made for a dedicated system pump.

A 300 GPH bilge pump mounted low on the outside of your transom will work good for a live bait pump.
