Boat is a 1979 Chris Craft Lancer. Motor removed. An edge of fiberglass covering the starboard stringer is lifting slightly over a 12" length in the area of the motor mount. Looks like it has been that way for many years. Is drilling a pilot hole in the area and examining the wood the bit removes the best way? I bought this old boat years ago and am now getting back to restoring it.
Jay.

Prior to drilling a hole, you can tap it with a hammer and see if it sounds solid or not

Pilot hole(s) is what I will try. 1/8 inch bit.
Thanks all
Jay

Drill bit. One of those two part epoxy sticks that you knead together make a convenient solution to filling the holes as you go.

Better to pour some thinned epoxy into the holes before you seal them.
