This is my first boat with an aluminum tube frame that holds the hard top. The boat is a 2001 Boston Whaler Conquest and there is mild corrosion and some pitting. Any suggestions for cleaning products and procedures?

Rupp Marine makes a product called Aluma Guard for maintaining aluminum towers and railings. It cost about $20 a bottle after shipping. It seems to be mostly a silicon protectant. It sure makes by anodized railings look good for a little while.

I clean mine with Mother's Aluminum polish and protect it with Johnson's Floor Paste Wax.

If your aluminum is anodized be careful using metal polishes, it will remove the anodize coating. You can tell by trying it on a small area and if the rag turns dark, it's not coated. If it comes off clean with no residue, it's coated/anodized.
