Have a 2006 4460 that has been great in every regard except for the plastic latches that are used to close/lock the interior cabin doors and drawers. There are about 30 of these latches throughout the cabin and I have replaced over 40 of these latches thus far (some doors are on their third latch!). These are the off-white, oval shaped plastic hardware that is fastened with two screws inside the door or drawer onto which the stainless know is screwed. Not sure how long Regal used these plastic latches, but they have now converted to a plastic/metal combination that appears to be much sturdier. Unfortunately, there are a different dimension and the only way to use the new/sturdier latches would be to fill each latch hole throughout the cabin and then redrill the new through the door/drawer holes about 3/8" lower than the current ones. Given the lacquered finish on the doors/drawers, the result would be a pretty gosh awful mess.
Wondering if any others have had problems with plastic latches and if you have come up with a better alternative. In addition, wondering if anyone has a source for the plastic replacements (the plastic ones have a log that appears to be f5 followed by a compass rose). My dealer quoted me a cost of $55 per latch and hard for me to believe a less expensive route cannot be found.
