Today Patsy's bay Marina is being sent the first of three large loads of lumber for the building of new docks for this season.

Interesting. Are they replacing all of them or expanding?

Maybe they are widening the existing ones. Tough to walk those tight ropes. Btw, the repair of the Stony Point Bay Marina sea wall is well underway. Too bad for the smaller boats. They are going to lose their view.

At least they wont get sea sick at dock. I have to wonder if this work was done a couple of years ago maybe I wouldn't have had the damage I did? It is what it is.

My guess is they are fixing the docks on the south side. Those docks are very low to the water and aren't very good.

I bet Seaweed YC might be lending a hand in this project.

I agree I think repair work will be south side. Those docks are really bad, they should put larger floaters those docks are to close to water.

Tom at patsy's told me that they were to be used as a floating break wall to reduce wave from comming into the marina. They were very tall.

Bob, easy on their cleats when you pull out this year!

They are doing a new floating breakwater and fixing the docks on the southside, spoke to Mike and that's what he told me.

The only problem Jon is Mike has been "building" that seawall for 4 or 5 years now!!!!!

I really like Mike, Jim and the rest of the staff at Patsy's but you have to call it the way it is. They mean well but but talk is cheap! That said, I still plan on bringing my boat there for a haul and bottom paint. (If they'll still let me after this post :)

I have been at the yard most of the week working on my boat, not only do they plans to build these new docks and sea wall they have been cranking them out and doing a great job!

Rommer I usually paint my own boat but I decided to have them paint my boat this year in fact they did it this morning and they did a great job I couldn't be happier! I plan to launch this Sunday if all goes well I will be in my new slip in the afternoon.

I saw the floating wave attenuator. It is real. I also saw the new work dock they put in and several other docks they built.

John,
I believe the main issue was gaining permits from the town. From what I was told the issue was they could not just replace the existing break wall the way it was originally constructed. It needed to conform to a new designs. So I guess they looked into the wave attenuator system.

The DEC requires any new seawall to absorb the waves and not reflect them back into the river. If you ask me I think that is a bit much to ask for.

That's crazy all these regulations are for the birds!!!

More likely, for the fish...

I can't wait to see the new wall. Sounds quite interesting. I wish the project well.
Hopefully I'll be up there towards the middle to end of April. I need some room on land to put my boat for a week so you guys better hurry and get in the water. :)

Rommer both Ben and I are in so there is room right in front of the shop.
