I went to the Annapolis boat show over the weekend and talked with the Regal folks. AM PM marine from the western shore is looking to open a store on the Eastern Shore, probably in the Kent Island area. That is great news. Jacksons is good but to far away for me to take my boat when it needs service.

The new 44 coupe was at the show as well as the 52. Both got allot of attention. I think Regal is getting through these tough times pretty well. Everyone seemed optimistic.

From what I could gather most of the new sales will be ordered boats. Not much is going into inventory. I think that is a smart move, it saves the dealer from expensive floor planning, lowers the possibility of repos from dealers, which in turn will keep the price of boats higher so when we go to sell ours we are not competing against fire sales from leftover inventory. It will still take time to get out of this mess but I got the feeling that better days are coming.

The Regal people were staying after the show to look for property with AM PM. It sounds like it will be fairly quick..

I meant the better days but the dealer getting setup quick is also a good thing.

We are planning a trip to the Chesapeake for next summer, perhaps we can do a mini Regal rendezvous.

Rommer,
Let me know, our facility has a guest dock w/power for $15.00 per night. You can walk to all the restaurants. And its 20' from the pool.

I went to the annapolis show yesterday as well and was very impressed with the Regal 44sc and 52. Of all the boats at the show i would say that these 2 got the most well deserved attention.

I was very surprised at the weights of both the 44 and the 52. Very light, compared to others.
What did you guys think of the black dash area on the 52? I feel it should have been a different color that does not get hot.

any color will do, but it has to be dark or it will cause glare on the wind screen in daylight. the old chocolate brown color they have used in the past looks pretty rough with some age. i had mine painted to match the deck color but have alot of glare as a result. its a trade off.

GSENT,
I am not sure what you are comparing the 44 coupe to. If you compare it to the 44Sundancer it is actually 1000lbs. heavier than the SeaRay. Also the 44 started out as a 41-42 now a 44. So it depends on the LOA and beam of the ones you are comparing it to. Also the weight that is in the brochures show it as a gas boat. Add an additional 1000lbs because of the diesels. Even more for the IPS. The 52 will be similar. Many of the 52's competition has 3 motors so they will add the weight of that 3rd motor. I have been on most boats of similar size of both the 44 and 52 They ride, handle and outperform most other boats in their class.

Regal has not cheapened either of these boats. They are solid and will last a long time. But you have to compare apples to apples.
