My boat was buffed and then polished in the spring of 09. It has always been kept in a covered slip in either Indiana or Kentucky. I haven't polished it since, and it still looks very shiny. As soon as it warms up I intend to propolish it again. Any recommendations before I do this ? Wash the old polish off ? Polish over it ? Use deergent first ?????

If it still has a good shine, I would just wash it with a good boat soap and polish over the old pro polish. The product contains some solvents that will aide in cleaning any contaminants.

I don't see the need to remove the old polish unless you have some oxidization. In which case, wash the boat with dawn. Remove the oxidization with buff magic and follow up with pro polish, rejex or starbrite polish.
