Why does my rogue wave keep disconnecting from the internet? How do I keep it connected?

Some carriers timeout. Here I use optimum which has a service that allows you to connect by device then that device stays connected as you go from tower to tower. Who is your provider?

have you saved the connection in your favorites so it can automatically connect if you loose contact with the AP?

I've found most AP's force you to renew the IP address lease every 24 hours or so to clear the cache of reserved addresses from the AP.

When I use optimum it automatically reconnects but first you have to register that device with them.
When I use other services I have to reconnect every time.

Mike,
I spoke about this a while back. It seems, CV dumps your connection after a period of time when on a hotspot. Is this happening when your surfing or watching a movie? Or are you trying to access cameras on the boat? It was the later for me.

My drops from time to time as well but sometimes it will stay connected for a couple of weeks without interruptions.

I have same experience as dave. I can stay connected for weeks .... then sometimes only a few days .

Im now connected tru version as a neighbor had Verizon install a router on the dock. I havent lost connection since March.

Yes,
Same experiences as you and Dave Rob. I was told they do this as to not dog down their hotspot with guys like us that are continually streaming video. Or users that forget to log off, my thoughts it is the later. When you stay logged on, and they don't see activity, I am thinking that is when they cut you lose. That is why I asked Mike the question I asked.

It dropped out about every 1/2 hour today, then it would take about 10 tries to get back on, each time.

When it works, it's great, but losing the signal constantly sucks

When you look at "signal" do you have "signal" (wifi signal) ?

Tell me again why you guys own boats to get away from it alll......

I own a wave so i can pay for the boat while i away. I also like to check on the boat when I'm not around so i use the wave to log into my cameras. Mine has been up since last monday when i returned to the dock.

The big question(s) is how many Optima hotspots are you seeing at one time and are the signal levels similar?

I see quite a few, all of varying signal strength, from all green to all red

Hogan are you sure you registered your device with optimum. I'm not referring to logging into Optimum but listing this device on your account to auto log in and stay logged in. Mine will get bumped off from time to time but it usually stays connected once I select a router. I find on a busy weekend if I'm not using my connection I will get bumped, I think they do this intentionally to free up band width for others. Once I'm bumped I have to reconnect then once again I will stay on for days or weeks depending on how busy the marinas are. It may be a coincidence but I since consistent and predictable when it happens.

I just checked, the rogue is registered

How consistent is your dock power?
If you pull the plug, does rogue re-connect?
Mine does.

Dock power is not the issue, it is fine

Remind me to bring you a power plug so you can hard wire it to 12 volts DC maybe this will help as it wont reboot when you unplug.
