Does anyone know of a good source for a used tandem bunk trailer- any business that deals with used trailers? Ebay, craigslist aren't too useful. I just need a trailer to get my boat 20 miles and sit in my garage for a while. 24 foot, 5300lb boat. In minnesota.

Don't think I've ever seen a tandem bunk trailer - bunk is usually for smaller boats, as the friction can be easily overcome with the winch. Tandem trailers, for heavy boats, would seemingly require rollers. My electric winch struggled to load my 25' Maxum pocket cruiser onto a rollers trailer - there's no way it would have loaded that hull onto a bunk trailer!

Any special reason you are looking for bunk over rollers for a larger boat?

Bunk trailers are actually better for heavy boats because you get more support. If your going to keep the boat sitting for awhile maybe you could borrow a trailer and put the boat on blocks. If you won't 1500 miles away I'd let you use mine.

You are better off getting a new one out of Florida. They are very reasonable in the big scheme of things. I've looked and never have seen a used trailer that was worth buying. After pricing everything that I would have to do or have done to get it road worthy for my boat, I was usually within $5-6 hundred of new. Most used trailer sellers view the product through rose colored glasses.

Thanks gents. I heardvtge bunks were the way to go over rollers but have no experience either way. I thought about borrowing a trailer but thought I was missing something about finding a used good trailer since I've had no success.

I just sold my EZ Loader bunk trailer, dual torsion axle. Fantastic trailer. I tried it on ebay. Sold it on ebay, was going to be shipping to MI. Deadbeat bidder never paid. Ended up selling it locally. I pick up my new dual axle bunk trailer saturday

Too bad you live so far away. My 10K trailer for my 24' searay woulda worked pretty good, huh!
