I need to known fuel consumption on a 1988 sea ray sedan. The motors are twin 350 mercs 260 hp she as all the option, weighs about 11,500 lbs . The best I can come up with is cruising speed of 22 knots around 3300 rpm. Wide open is 4200 rpm around 28 knots. I looked everywhere but can't come up with fuel consumption.

I think the max you can push through those engines is 18 gph. At 3300, I'm guessing you're pushing 11-12 gph. Of course, it depends very much on how you are propped.

My 1988 30' Sundancer burned about 20-22 GPH and cruised at about 30 mph.

Merc 350/260's w/Alpha One outdrives, aluminum props.

Owned the boat about 14 years ago.

Burn should be close.

I was talking about each engine. I think Jonathan's numbers are for both engines, which is consistent.

Thats consistant with what my 350 burns at 3300 rpm. 10-11 gph. I think WOT burns about 20. At the price of fuel this year, I spend alot of time at 1200RPM. I get over 3 MPG at that speed. Not as fun, but the fuel ges a lot further.

I have a 1984 34' Sedan and its been burning
more then what I thought. It will depend on how many hours and how offten you tune it up.
I am getting about 12-15 gallons an hour at 3200 rpm and that's running around 20-25 nots.
Being in the great NW the current plays a big roll and the traffic.
I'd like to see 20-25 gallons an hour but with 270hp Crusaders with 1550 hours on them I will never see that. I dont think you will see anymore the I do.

I have to ask, why would you need to do 28-35 nots with a boat that size, unless your a racing boat i dont see anyone doing 28-35 nots in a 34' or bigger. Just asking.
I had to grew up and slow down some to keep gas in the tank. I do 12-14 nots with only two barrels open and only if I need to move or get out of some ruff weather do I do 18+ nots.
