1988 Silverton manually check the fuel

On the 88 37 MotorYacht it is 1 big tank centerline, forward of the engines. Cant speak to the convertible.
 
Why keep guessing when the OP won't come back to clear things up.
 
$200 worth of fuel may only be 50 or 60 gallons. You can run thru that pretty quickly.

I'll wholeheartedly agree with my friend Pascal here. Gasoline tanks should NOT be sounded. That's a diesel thing, NOT a gasoline thing. Fix the sender, install a flowmeter, calibrate the flowmeter, then rely on it. Always far more accurate than a float level type sender. Do NOT get in the habit of manually sounding a gasoline tank! Boating disasters is my profession - please trust me that it is a horrendously bad idea.
