Jim et al, where can I find a wiring diagram for my boat? I have a problem with my dash light switch, the lights don't come on. I checked the switch and found that there was no +12 volt to the switch, so I jumped power to it. Now the lights come on brite BUT so do the nav. lights! Obviously a short somewhere. I think a PO just unhooked the power to the dash lights to "solve" the problem. I'd like to fix it properly but a wiring diagram whould really help.

UPDATE: I found out that in order to turn on the dash lights, you must first have the NAV lights on. Then the two position dash light switch will give you dim and brite settings. The dash lights will not work with the anchor lights on. When I jumped power to the dash switch, it was backfed to the NAV lights. Apparently the lights work as Sea Ray intended them.

I think I answered this on the CSR site? That's basically the way mine works, except I don't have a low and bright setting on the dash. Well, I may have at one time? I have a three position switch, but the middle and lower switch settings don't seem to do anything. It makes sense that you would want to leave your anchor light on at night WITHOUT the dash lights continuously running. At first, it seems kind of odd though. Glad it's fixed and working!

Jim, yes you did answer there and it put me onto the combination of switches. On my boat, the up position of the dash light switch is brite and down is dim, center is off. I still don't know why you can't use the dash lights while the anchor light is on. The way my boat is set up, I can run my NAV lights without my dash lights or with them. But I cannot run my ANCHOR lights with the dash lights no matter where the dash light switch is positioned. Oh well. Sounds like thats how it was designed to work and I'm OK with that. Now if I just knew what that shower switch in the head was supposed to do.(LOL)

Chris:

I guess mine is busted because my dash lights are either on or off. I don't get anything at the middle or lower switch position. I'll have to fish around and see if there are any missing wires.

I messed around with my shower switch and it actually came on when I hit the switch! It scared me! I'm not sure why I'd use it because the pump will kick on when the float goes up anyway? I also tested the lights on the holding tank and they work too! We forgot to pump it out and I hit the head switch and the yellow light came on! OOPS!! That means it's darn full! The next morning, I checked it again and it was red meaning don't even THINK about flushing! We got pumped out and life was good, but the yellow light should come on a little sooner I think. Oh well, I was just surprised that it worked after all these years!

I also discovered a little piece of wood that I had goes at the end of the tracks where the cabin door slides back toward the windshield. Now that's in place too.

Do your Alphas have the anode with a trim tab or do they use the flat ones right above the prop? I don't get any torque at the steering wheel and I can let go of it completely, so I'm thinking of switching to the flat anodes.

Mine have the trim fin but I don't get any torque either so I don't see why a flat one wouldn't work. Do you have a Vacuflush head? I have a manual Jabsco. I have an indicator on teh electrical panel that i think is for the fresh water tank. It only shows when the tank is full to about half, then it registers nothing.

I have a Raritan head. I think it was replaced somewhere along the way. There are other holes underneath it. It's fine and I was able to rebuild it, so we'll keep it. I have a freshwater indicator that shows 2/3, 1/3 and E. In the head, there is an indicator for the holding tank too.

What a great boat!
