Actually, I am going on vacation for a while. On the hard is as good a place as any for the next two weeks. She is looking good. While it may sound garish, I had the boot stripe color scheme done to match the name; Gold leaf with black frame. I took off all the topside striping, Sundancer insignia and model designation and had two pin stripes put in their place one in gold leaf and the other in black. I'll get some pix. The 3 blade props are in the garage. The 4 blades are going to Wildcat to be tuned to match the engine specs for WOT which was never achieved with the 3 blades.
Did you know the exhaust ports on the 1999 and like 330 Sundancer are a different distance from the gunwale down? When I went to check the progress, the re-stripe threw me for a loop as the stripe is dead on, on both sides yet the stripe on the starboard side is much closer to the exhaust port than the port side. I even measured it with my Rosary Beads!
It really threw me as I would think the evac of cooling water from the engines would need to be even to keep the engine temps to remain equal. That explains (perhaps) why one engine temp gauge reads higher than the other. It also explains why the bottom paint was AFU as well and has been for the life of the boat. I am raising it about 2 inches on the starboard side and 3+ inches on the port. The starboard side was barely high enough to keep scum off when fully loaded and the port side was too low and there was always scum over the water line. I honestly thought I had a leak that was causing a list. Not so. It was faulty work from the factory.
I thought it was just my boat, however, I checked a 1995 330 in the water...same thing. Ironically, he raised his water line to...match the exhaust ports so his is still AFU only at a different height!
Just thought I would point this out for any Sea Ray 330 owners who may have the same problem.
