My Carver 2557 has and has a fresh water leak and I am determined (stuborn) to find it...
For anyone that is not familiar with this boat this may sound like Chinese...
There is a small hatch in front of the head area in the middle of the floor...I can see some plumbing from there...Under the first closets floor I can see some plumbing there...
I removed the very front floor boards and can see some plumbing there...
I have ruled out the leak to be in the following places..
1) From the closet floor to the sink in the head...
2) from under the floor hatch to the hot water tank...
3) From the pump
4) From the pump to the sink in the back of the boat...
This leak is after the pump...

I suspect the leak to be from the floor hatch to the sink in the counter top in the galley area...I can see where the pipes join to the taps and the leak is not there...
How do I access these pipes?...I dont mind changing them, but don't know how to get at them where they go through the stringer and under the cupboards...

Any thoughts?...

Ugh, not sure on that one. You may have to disassemble a cabinet...

When you get yours fixed Wayne you can come and fix mine too! I hate those pesky leaks behind the liner or cabinets. We've had one for 2 yrs that I can't find. It helps to put a lil' food coloring in the water and run the pumps & taps etc. I once had some that was glow in the dark but can't find it anywhere anymore.

I'm determined now...I tried the food colouring trick...I broke down doday and bought the crimping tool for the clamps for the lines...

Found the leaking pipe...Hot water pipe to the sink in the galley...Removed the pipe and tried to slide the new one in place NOT...Looks like I'm going to have to dremell the floor out of the cupboard below the sink to see how the pipe feeds...
I sent the resident Carver Dealer a PM, but never heard back...Thought he might know how to access the problem area...

I have an 86 28 mariner and had a leak I could not find. After finding it and fixing it, I decided to make the investment of new plumbing throughout and highly recommend it. It was such a simple process and I sleep well at night knowing my 22 year old boat has modern plumbing that has not been subjected to the extremes that the prior plumbing had endured.

The total investment was less than $175.00 for lines to 3 sinks/faucets, heater, tank, and filter. I used red and blue 1/2" PEX tubing and the snap together fittings from Lowes. You simply cut the line flush, insert a backing piece, and push tubing into the fitting. If it is not right, you pull it apart and start over.

It is extremely easy and I highly recommend it!
