Hey Guys, hope everyone's summer is going well. I have a 99 260 Sundancer, I'm hoping someone has a similar dash configuration / layout. I recently just added a Lowrance 5200c to the dash (unit is about 4 years old). I flush mounted it to the left of the steering wheel where the trim tab indicators are, and moved them below the install. The unit has an internal antenna, never gave it much thought, but I'm losing satellite reception. Any thoughts / suggestions now that I have my dash cut and the GPS fully installed. I hate to add an external antenna, and I'm not even sure I can. Any input is greatly appreciated!!

You should add the external antenna. The units the have an internal antenna are usually used on boats like center consoles what you have blocks the signal. It really doesn't take much to install the antenna. I put mine on a two foot mast and it works great.

Thanks for the input....what unit do you have? Mine does not have a port for antenna, I was told I should try running through the NEMA 2K

I have a Garmin 188C and it does have an internal antenna but I was advised to run an external because they said the windshield would block reception.
