320 vs 340

The 3370 is one design with no gunwales. ALL BOAT COMPANIES DO THIS. Silverton has one as well. The 3470 has gunwales and they are safe and solid.

Dave.........what model Sea Ray has no gunwales ??

Im not familiar with it .

I will disagree that the 3470 interior blows the 340 away. That is a matter of opinion. There are some nice features in the 3470. But as with anything in a boat results in sacrifices. I own a 320 and do like the Cruisers. I considered the boat pretty seriously. But ultimately went with a 320 Dancer. That being said. If I was in the market for a boat. I would buy yours. Because it is an awesome deal. In fact I am sending the link to a friend.

We had a 320 and overall were very happy with it. The berth matress, is however, very uncomfortable. We added some of the waffle foam pad to help, but if the 340 has an innerspring matress, go with it.

Also, if you are into cruising-type boats (320, 340, 3370,whatever) range is more important than speed. If you are in a hurry, fly rather than boat.

Holy crap... make ur own thread... U ADD NOTHING TO THE GUYS THREAD... GO AWAY....

Don would take control and keep the thread on focus with out the b/s...

Thank you
Rob

Currentsea, if those of us in the Sea Ray forum wanted a Cruisers boat we would have bought one. Cruisers are nice boats. The thread is weather or not to chose a 320 or a 340 Sea Ray. Good luck in selling your boat.

Just browsing the forum and next thing you know my 290 Amberjack is getting bashed. Just to set the record straight yes your cruisers 3370 may weigh the same as my AJ but with the big block power you aren't going to be outcruising or speeding me.
Not that the cruisers is not a nice boat but I think I'll keep my AJ, thanks. As to the fuel burn I think there more similar than you think.
340 is a great boat to size up into.
Good Luck and Greetings from Block

Rob....... I would......but I'm busy searching ALL large Sea Ray models.....to find one with no gunwales.....can't seem to find ONE !!!

Anyone know what model has no guwales ?

When in doubt just make stuff up.... Appears to be the " M.O. "

Rob

I had a 2004 320 that ran great. I originally looked at the 340 but at the time the $$ did not work. They are basically the same boat, except the wider beam on the 340. The 320 does have a mid berth area.

Wow, what fun reading this thread!!

340 Dancer with the 8.1 inboards is awesome, a no brainer in my opinion. I honestly get .9 MPG anywhere between 3400 and 3550 RPM, 26 to 29 MPH cruise depending on conditions. Boat is a dream to run and like previously stated very capable docking in wind or current conditions for a gas powered boat. Can't beat the big blocks in my book.

As far as Cruisers go, knowing that is not the question of this thread, they need to hire someone with an eye for aesthetics before I could ever consider one no matter how great the boat was, they look like an over inflated blow up doll. And real boats have side decks to facilitate everything from docking to washing the darn thing.
