How far off shore is Cedar Key? if she was west, would she be in The Gulf or Atlantic?
 
Cedar key is on the gulf side, north of tampa

Used to fish there. Need run out a mile for a foot of depth. We went out in 17 foot outboards.
MONTAUK was my first thought.

Used to be a small drinking town with a fishing problem and a boat ramp. Now Money and Condominiums have found it.
BOATING RELATED... Gives me shivers to this day. Beautiful cruiser moored at overnight dock. Wavelets lapping, A/C discharge flowing, generator burbling. I knew it was going to be hot 30 miles out there fishing so I was a little jealous. When we returned to winch out..painted steel tilt trailer and 12 inch tires.. emergency vehicles and crime scene tape. Three fatalities from carbon monoxide. My Cedar Key Chills from 1973.
And my insistence on real boating education... Real instructor, real students, real CLASSROOM..
A Real Program.. Not a business opportunity money grab. Unapologetically
 
Still deep enough to drown out there. I'm curious, why did she call a friend instead of her husband LMHO.
